STUDIO FOUNDER KIRFEL

Schloss 1
98630 Bedheim

In 2010 we founded our office and in 2014 we renamed ourselves STUDIO GRÜNDER KIRFEL. We were brought together by our common interest in creating architecture in existing buildings. What appeals to us is thinking in very long periods of time and developing high-quality architecture in many steps:
We develop usage concepts for existing buildings and also take unconventional paths in search of opportunities that have not yet been discovered.
Of course, we also design new buildings and additions in existing environments.
When implementing the concepts, careful advice to our client is very important to us.

We love working with models and know how to realistically show our clients what they are planning together with us.

The execution with building constructions that are in line with existing buildings - in accordance with the requirements of the monument - is essential for us. In our demonstration project Schloss Bedheim, we are also testing forgotten construction techniques.
We are very well trained for these services and are constantly expanding our expertise:
Florian Kirfel was a research assistant for design and building construction at the Bauhaus University Weimar for five years and from 2011 to 2013 a research assistant at the Institute for Monument Preservation and Building Research at ETH Zurich.
Anika Gründer is doing her doctorate at the Chair of Monument Preservation at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar on new communication strategies in monument preservation and has been a research assistant at the Chair of Design Methodology and Building Theory at the Technical University of Munich since 2012.
Our office is located in Bedheim Castle in southern Thuringia. We are technically professionally equipped and understand modern tools and communication.
