bergmeisterwolf is an architecture and design office based in Brixen and Rosenheim, which has been conducting exciting dialogues with clients for 13 years, thus developing and researching answers to contextual and spatial questions and is also active in teaching. The studio was founded by Gerd Bergmeister and Michaela Wolf and is supported by architects, artists and a network of professionals from various fields. bergmeisterwolf deals with different scales, with private and public buildings and is active in the tourism, residential, cultural and interior architecture/design sectors.
Philosophy
The peculiarity of each intervention is the result of a targeted, considerate work in search of a balance between the built and the landscape: bergmeisterwolf rediscovers the old building traditions and combines them with new materials and experiments with them. bergmeisterwolf recognizes and expands the existing structures, but also inserts elements of discontinuity, reclaiming the forms of the place and expanding them with a new dialectic, building them under the existing morphology and transforming the forms of the landscape. bergmeisterwolf works with tradition, the present and the future to understand, reveal and explore the identity of the place.
