Listening, intuition and experimentation are the hallmarks of the design culture of Park Associati, the architectural studio founded in Milan in 2000 by Filippo Pagliani and Michele Rossi.
The aim of Park Associati's work is to give architectural form to a vision by interpreting and synthesizing the forces involved and the variables specific to each project.
When considering the concrete and explicit elements dictated by regulations and budget constraints, climatic or environmental conditions, attention is also paid to the intangible and hidden dimensions: the identity values of customers, the desires and requirements of users, the urban, social and political context.
Using intuition - meaning the ability to decipher complexity - and through a process of research and dialogue, practice interprets the peculiarities of each environment and provides architectural answers to the corresponding questions.
Experimentation with languages and technologies, as well as collaborations with other disciplines, have led Park Associati to tackle the most diverse projects with a wide range of interventions, ranging from urban planning to design.
The practice proposes specific and rigorous projects without losing sight of the compositional and aesthetic aspects.
Bold buildings such as the Salewa headquarters in Bolzano and Luxottica and Nestlé in Milan are characterized by a constantly changing, but always characteristic design language that also reflects the open, diverse and scientific creative process.
The master plans for the sensitive area between Milan and Baranzate adjacent to Expo2015 and the redevelopment of Rozzano in the south of Milan are also the result of the analysis and understanding of the context and territory.
From the cube and priceless travel restaurants to the multifunctional spaces for the Japanese brand Tenoha, from the Hermès pop-up shop in Rome, to the international stores of the haute couture house Brioni, to the design pieces for Driade and Zumtobel, Park Associati's projects are characterized by a constant search for the combination of materials and their shapes with different functionalities, as well as by the utmost attention to detail.
Urban renewal and the rehabilitation of historic and modernist buildings are key themes of practice, also thanks to their ability to interpret and give back to the community. Witnesses to this approach in Milan are the restorations of La Serenissima and Gioiaotto, the recent conservative intervention in Piazza Cordusio and the complete renovation of the new Engie headquarters in the former industrial area of Bicocca.
Park Associati is always interested in exploring new areas in order to face the challenges and complexities of contemporary architecture in their own personal way.
