"We build with local materials, with local craftsmen and the characters of the people who live here. It is not an intellectual matter, but an emotional one: we want to give our projects the opportunity to age with dignity."

For pedevilla architects, building means a conscious approach to social, cultural, economic and ecological components of everyday life. The integration of a building into existing local structures plays just as much a role as the response to the respective temperature and climate influences. In this context, the issue of consistency is becoming an important factor in planning decisions.

"We are concerned with the cycles of the materials used, their durability and service life, but also with traditional methods of traditional craftsmanship, with knowledge believed to be lost; but above all, it's about materials being alive."

Armin and Alexander Pedevilla studied architecture at the Technical University in Graz. Both independently founded their own office in Austria after their studies. Driven by a desire for alpine construction, the brothers returned to South Tyrol in 2005 to found pedevilla architekten together. Since then, pedevilla architekten has made a name for itself in the national and international architecture scene and is now one of the renowned offices in Italy. Her work has received many awards, has been published and has been shown in numerous architectural exhibitions. This was followed by lectures at universities and institutions in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy and his work as a juror in architectural competitions.
